Occupational Therapy & Physical Therapy

In early intervention, occupational therapy practitioners promote the function and engagement of infants and toddlers and their families in everyday routines by addressing areas of occupation, including activities of daily living, rest and sleep, play, education, and social participation. Practitioners enhance a family’s capacity to care for their child and promote his or her development and participation in natural environments where the child and family live, work, and play.

Speech & Feeding Therapy

Language is made up of the words humans use to share ideas and communicate. This may include speaking, understanding, reading, and writing. Although some children walk and talk early, others may be delayed in learning certain skills such as speech. Skilled professionals, including audiologists and speech-language pathologists, are part of an early intervention team. They help children develop skills such as cognitive skills, communication skills, adaptive or self-help skills, and social–emotional skills.

Special Instruction & ABA Therapy

Feeding therapy is designed to teach a child how to eat or eat better when the child exhibits symptoms that prohibits them from enjoying the mealtime experience. This may include if they do not know how to chew properly, if they cough or gag every time they drink, or if they have general difficulty with oral feedings. A trained occupational or speech therapist will determine the source of the child’s difficulties and develop specific therapies to make the feeding patterns and process of eating easier.

Family Support Services

The primary goal of Family Support Services is to help families care for their loved one with a developmental disability at home for as long as desired. Services may include: respite; recreation; family reimbursement/cash subsidy; case management/ service coordination; counseling; behavior management; crisis intervention; financial and life planning assistance; training; transportation; special adaptive equipment and environmental modification, and more.
